Ende August wird eine Komposition des sächsischen Komponisten und Jazzers Günter Heinz, der in diesem Jahr für drei Monate Stipendiat der Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen ist, zur Uraufführung kommen. Die Performance „Briefe aus Rauch“ wird anlässlich des Literaturfestivals „Bardinale“ aufgeführt.

Das Werk bezieht sich auf Texte des zeitgenössischen spanischen Dichters Juan Carlos Valle „Karlotti“. Es ist von höchster Konzentration, aber auch von größter Empfindsamkeit – wie die Worte des Dichters. Einzelne Worte, wie hingeworfen. Und doch erzeugen sie Bilder von großer Intensität. Die Texte werden von Vanessa Vidal (Valencia) in Originalsprache und auf Deutsch vorgetragen. Günter Heinz und Ruairí O’Brien eröffnen der Sprache mit ihrer Musik- und Lichtkompositionen einen erweiterten Erfahrungsraum, der alle Sinne anspricht.

Günter Heinz entdeckte den Dichter, dessen Texte erstmalig in Deutschland gelesen werden, durch eine Zeitungsnotiz, die ihn (den Musiker) mit Karlotti (dem Dichter) verglich.
Dort schrieb Ildefonso Rodríguez: „… ich sah etwas, was ich zuvor noch nie gesehen hatte: Günter Heinz, dieser Musiker, der uns immer an Karlotti erinnert hat, gab seiner Posaune während des Konzerts einen Schluck Wein. Feinfühlig (alles an Günter ist feinfühlig, sein Sprudeln, Gurgeln, Glucksen, seine Klangblasen) erhob er ein mit rotem Wein gefülltes Glas und gab seiner Posaune zu trinken. Wie in der uralten Geschichte desjenigen, der Wein und Essen mit seinen Tieren teilt...“

Vanessa Vidal Mayor, geb. 1975 in Callosa d´En Sarrià (Spanien), studierte Philosophie in Valencia und Mainz. 1999 bis 2000 war sie DAAD-Stipendiatin an der Johannes Gutenberg-Universtität Mainz. 2003 Master of Advanced Studies in Philosophie. 2002 bis 2005 war sie Exzellenz-Stipendiatin des spanischen Kultusministeriums und verbrachte verschiedene Forschungsaufenthalte in Deutschland. 2007-2008 Stipendium der Abteilung Internationales der Universität Mainz. Seit 2008 lebt sie in Berlin und arbeitet im Theodor W. Adorno Archiv an ihrer Dissertation über Kunsterfahrung im Werk von Theodor W. Adorno.

Ruairí O’Brien geboren 1962 in Dublin/ Irland, ist Architekt, Lichtplaner und Künstler, lebt und arbeitet seit 1991 in Deutschland. Nach dem Studium der Architektur an Universitäten in London, Edinburgh und New York war er als Projektarchitekt in London, New York, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Dresden und Berlin tätig. 1995 gründete O’Brien sein eigenes Architekturbüro, ansässig in Dresden. O’Brien lehrte an nationalen und internationalen Universitäten in den Fächern Architektur, Lighting Design und Kunst. O’Brien hat Lichtskulpturen und lichtpoetische Performances anderen Kunstgenres und Künstlern gewidmet, häufig aus der Literatur. 2004 gründete er „Light and Word“ mit dem Programmteil Bardinale flows als Experimentierraum des internationalen Poesiefestivals BARDINALE.

The composer and Jazz musician Günter Heinz, who this year was awared a 3 month scolarship by the Cultural Foundation of Saxony, will perform his work, as special guest at this years international poetry festival “BARDINALE”, “Briefe aus Rauch” (letters of smoke) for the first time in public at the end of August in Dresden and Freiberg.

The composition refers to a text written by the contemporary Spanish poet Juan Carlos Valle “Karlotti”. It is highly concentrated and yet full of sensitivity – as are the words of the poet. The text will be read by Vanessa Vidal (Valencia) in Spanish and single words will be spoken in German, single words thrown into space, creating images of great intensity. Ruairí O’Brien “speaks silently” with light and space, the images or hints of images create a window of thought through which one can see the voice of the poet.
Günter Heinz and Ruairí O’Brien interact with their music and light compositions which open up a world of further perceptions and possible fresh spatial experiences for the senses of the attentive public.

Günter Heinz discovered the poet, whose texts will be read for the first time in Germany, when a newspaper journalist compared them to each other. Heinz the musician and Karlotti the the poet. In the newspaper article the journalist Ildefonzo Rodriguez wrote…”I saw something that I had never seen before..Günter Heinz this musician, who always reminds us of Karlotti, gave his trombone a glass of red wine. Sensitive…everything on Günter is sensitive, his bubbling, spluttering, gurgling, chortling, and his blowing sounds. He lifted his glass and gave his trombone a drink. Like in the ancient stories of the past where our forefather shares his food and wine with his trusted animals...”

Vanessa Vidal Mayor studied Philosophy in Valencia and Mainz and is presently working on her dissertation on the “Kunsterfahrung” (artexperience) in the work of Th. W. Adorno at the Adorno-Archives in Berlin.

Ruairí O’Brien (architect, lighting designer and artist) was born in Dublin / Ireland and has lived and worked in Germany since 1991. He studied architecture at Universities in London, Edinburgh and New York. O’Brien had worked as a project architect in London, New York, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Dresden and Berlin before he founded his own architecture and design firm in 1995 called Ruairí O’Brien. Architecture. Light. Art. in the city of Dresden. O’Brien has taught architecture, art and light at several Universities in Germany and the Czech Republic. O’Briens work as an artist includes a large series of Light sculptures developed often in hommage to writers and poets of personal interest. In 1994 O’Brien established the festival “Light and Word” to provide a platform for cross over projects to accompany the international poetry festival BARDINALE. A further experimental block”Bardinale flows” allows him to invite guest artists from other art forms to accompany him in developing his genre “lightpoetry”.

A finales de agosto se estrenará una obra del compositor sajón y músico de Jazz Günter Heinz, que este año es durante tres meses becario de la Fundación Cultural del Estado Libre de Sajonia. La performance „Briefe aus Rauch - Postales de Humo“ será estrenada en el Festival de Literatura „Bardinale“.

La obra está basada en textos del poeta español contemporáneo Juan Carlos Valle–„Karlotti“. Es una obra de elevadísima concentración pero también del más profundo sentimiento – como las palabras del poeta. Palabras solitarias, como arrojadas, que sin embargo generan imágenes de una intensidad extraordinaria. Los textos serán recitados en idioma original y en alemán por Vanessa Vidal. Günter Heinz y Ruairí O’Brien, amplían el espacio de experiencial del recital con sus composiciones musicales y lumínicas, un espacio en el que se ven involucrados todos los sentidos.

Günter Heinz descubrió al poeta, cuyos textos son recitados por vez primera en Alemania, en una nota de prensa que lo compara a al él (el músico), con Karlotti (el poeta). En ella escribe Ildefonzo Rodríguez: “... vi algo que nunca había visto. En medio de su concierto, Günter Heinz, ése músico que siempre nos ha recordado a Karlotti, le dio un trago de vino al trombón. Con delicadeza (todo en Günter es delicado, borboteos, gárgaras, oquedades y pompas de sonido) alzó un vaso de vino tinto y le dio de beber al trombón. Era el cuento antiguo del que comparte el vino y la comida con su animal...“

Vanessa Vidal Mayor, nacida en 1975 en Callosa D´En Sarrià (España) estudió Filosofía en Valencia y Mainz. Fue becaria del DAAD en la Universidad de Mainz del 2000 al 2002. Master of Advanced Studies en Filosofía en el 2003. Del 2002 al 2005 fue becaria de excelencia del Ministerio de Cultura Español realizando diversas Estancias de Investigación en Alemania. Durante el 2007 y 2008 disfrutó de una beca del Abteilung Internationales de la Unversidad de Mainz. Vive desde el 2008 en Berlín y escribe en el Archivo Theodor W. Adorno su tesis de doctorado sobre el concepto de experiencia estética en la obra de Adorno.

Ruairí O’Brien nació en 1962 en Dubín/Irlanda. Es arquitecto, diseñador de luz y artista. Vive y trabaja en Alemania desde 1991. Después de estudiar arquitectura en las Universidades de Londres, Edinburgo y Nueva York, trabajó como arquitecto en Frankfurt, Hamburgo, Dresde y Berlín. En 1995 fundó su propio despacho de arquitectura en Dresden. O´Brien ha dado clases de Arquitectura, „Lighting“ y Arte en universidades nacionales e internacionales. Ha dedicado esculturas de luz y performances luminopoéticas a otros géneros artísticos y a artistas, frecuentemente del ámbito de la literatura. En el 2004 fundó „Licht and Word“ junto a „Bardinale Flows“ como espacio experimental del Festival de Poesía internacional Bardinale.
